In Memory of Diane Cameron
Wesley “Diane” Cameron was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on March 23, 2022 at age 78 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Diane was born to Wesley and Bettye Cameron on May 5, 1943 in Merced, California, the oldest sister to Lynn “Pete” Cameron and Kevin Cameron. Until she was in her mid-teens, she loved to mow the lawn, and always liked to play catch with a baseball. After graduating from Vallejo High School, where she was in a synchronized swimming club, Diane met her late husband Stephen Stoltz while working for Xerox Corporation. She married Steve a few years later and had two sons, Scott and Brian. After Steve’s death in 1983, she moved with her sons to Kirkland, Washington, and later moved to Seattle, where she went back to school, getting her teaching degree and master's degree from the University of Washington. She loved poetry, fiction writing and journaling and taught English as a second language classes at Highline Community College for over 10 years before she retired in 2012.
Diane enjoyed a quiet life in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, where she found joy in reading, theater, movies, meditation and traveling with her friends and longtime partner of almost 30 years, Dave Nelson, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed spending time with her son Scott Stoltz, his wife Erin Cranston, her grandson Cameron, her son Brian Stoltz and his wife Megan Prine.
